Blank Quilt Pool Grid

How the winner’s will be picked?

We will be using a grid similar to a football pool for the Quilt Pool.  Each square will contain your KIVAFriends Name.  To select the winner of our pool prizes we will use POOLHOST.com which will give us the across and down numbers randomly on a certain date. To determine which row inside a square  we will be using a formula from KIVA.org stats to assign a row number per prize.

How the Quilt Pool Winning Selections work:

 

The grid will be 10x10 and will contain 100 squares.  Each entry into the sweepstakes will be assigned a square.  The squares will be filled starting at the top left (0,0) moving right until the row is filled, then the next row will be filled in the same fashion.  Once all 100 squares are filled, a new row of names will appear starting at the top left.   This will continue until the Quilt Pool entry period is over. After all entries are received a random sort using a google spreadsheet will be made with all entries.  *This is not your final square, that random sort will be October 30th, 2008.

 

If someone purchases more than one Entry, the squares will be filled in order using that persons name for that entry purchase.  If that person decides to purchase more entries that will happen at another part of the sheet. 

 

Squares are identified by vertical and horizontal numbers assigned by www.poolhost.com .  The row inside a square will be assigned according to each prize’s location assignment.  See Prize Listing page located on this website.

 

 

The expected Quilt Pool winning numbers will be randomly given on Saturday November 1st, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

The Grid will be posted for people to see at any time.   The calculations will happen shortly after this time and winners announced on the KIVAFriends forum. The prize locations will be posted Saturday October 30th, 2008.  And will be determined by a Formula using KIVA.org Stats available on that day. (This formula will be determined by the number of rows we end up with)

 

The prizes will be shipped to the winners the following week.  All shipping cost associated with the quilt come out of the funds raised. Unless arranged by the winner, prizes will be shipped in the most economical fashion.
